Bobby Cox Breaks Ejection Record


As bad as it sounds Atlanta Braves' skipper Bobby Cox passed Hall of Famer John McGraw for career ejections Tuesday night with number 132. According to plate official Ted Barrett, there was nothing unusual about the toss,
"Just routine arguing balls and strikes, and he was ejected for that,"
Barrett said. "Nothing out of the ordinary from other ejections."

I love this! After you read the story you will see why Bobby Cox is destined for the Hall of Fame. He stands up for his guys and lights fires. That in turn makes them play harder for him. It takes a great man to come out of the dugout and get tossed to take the heat off of a guy throwing his helmet and bat across the field. In the past week we've had Clements tossed for dinging a batter in defense of his guy, and now Cox getting the hook. We see this almost every day, but I don't think we see it enough. I believe 'ol Bronson Arroyo could take a hint from these guys.
